The assessment is a collaborative effort authored by 77 scientists from the Forest Service and other Federal agencies, research institutions, and various universities across the United States.

An Assessment of the Drought. Summary: This report examines the rainfall pattern and low river flows that were recorded at selected rainfall and hydrometric stations in and compares them to the rainfall pattern and low river flows that occured in the drought.

Based on the experience gained from to drought in Spain, this paper highlights potential strategies to mitigate drought effects. Some lessons learnt during recent droughts in Spain are the following: (1) droughts are not predictable but their adverse effects can be substantially mitigated; (2) dry spells in the Mediterranean countries Cited by: The occurrence of vegetative drought over Rajasthan, Gujrat, and Andhra Pradesh is confirmed using drought assessment index, which shows very low value (well below 40) during over these regions.

Drought Analysis. This is an unpublished ongoing student project of vegetation response to meteorological drought using Google Earth Engine (GEE).

This is part of a group work about drought analysis by MSc students in Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University: de Mendonça Fileni, Felipe; Erikson, Torbjörn-Johannes; Feng, Shunan. Drought differs from other natural hazards (e.g.,floods, tropical cyclones, and earth- quakes) in several ways.

First, since the effects of drought often accumulate slowly over a considerable period of time and may linger for years after the termination of the event, the onset and end of drought is.

A drought impact is an observable loss or change at a specific time because of drought. Drought risk management involves hazards, exposure, vulnerability and impact assessment, a drought early warning system (DEWS) (monitoring and forecasting, see Box below), and preparedness and mitigation (WMO, UNCCD and FAO, ).

It is important that drought.
